Don't you love how God works things out and you don't even figure it out until later?  That's our plane ticket story....
Once upon a time, as the time for the Kona and Beyond Adventure drew nearer, the Timms decided to purchase plane tickets.  It WAS the only way to get to where they were going, so that part was a no-brainer.
What became a challenge was the "when-ness" of the decision.  They decided to watch and wait as God would surely bring the ticket prices down to help them out.  A "plane ticket miracle" was the plan of action!  Alas, the "plane ticket miracle" seemed to elude them as ticket prices kept rising and rising.  Being the amazing people of faith that they are, the Timms panicked and decided to get their tickets before they had to sell Jesse's guitar to pay for them.  The Timms have special friends who had volunteered to use their Alaska Airline visa card to purchase tickets for them because there was a companion fare deal with each regular flight purchased.  All the Timms had to do was get a check in the mail after the purchase.  Great!  A quick look at the website, an even quicker call to the special friends, and a few minutes later....whew!  tickets purchased!
Bummer, you may be thinking, no "plane ticket miracle."  God left them in the lurch.  Not a good way to start a five month stint in a whole new adventure.  I'm a little worried for what's in store for this naive and trusting family.
But, wait!  Here's the fun part!  As I was writing the check to cover the tickets it came to me.  In my head, a couple of months ago while figuring out the YWAM budget, I had written down $500/person for plane fare.  In actuality, in real time in the real world of numbers and such, the tickets were $821.  BUT as I wrote the check to send to our friends I noticed something...the $1966 check looked an awful lot like $500/person/ticket!  Yep, God came through with the "plane ticket miracle" in a unique way.  The little budget I had in my mind was real! No matter what the real world looked like, God had created a way for us to get our tickets at the "right" price! He's so good!
(I know what you're thinking...too bad she didn't budget $200/person in her head those few months ago!) :)
Aloha and mahalo for praying for us!
